Duke of Edinburgh Expedition

This week we are feeling immensely proud of our year 11 Duke of Edinburgh participants – all 58 of whom completed their Bronze Expedition over the weekend. After an early start in the Clent Hills, the students’ route took them across the Lickey Hills and through Barnt Green, stopping in Blackwell to set up camp for the night. Sunday’s walk included a section of the Worcester & Birmingham Canal and a long cross-country stretch to finish in Wythall. Our walkers enjoyed ideal weather conditions, with Saturday particularly bright, a beautiful sunset marking the end of a long day as we had our evening meal on the campsite.

Some great comments from students who reflected on the opportunity to enjoy conversations outside their social groups whilst on the trail, and who displayed great teamwork to navigate to their destination (with only a few unplanned diversions!)
